Recommendations from experts at the SI «IPH NAMSU» regarding modern approaches to the organization of industrial wastewater management have been published in the handbook “WaterOps Ukraine – The Water Manager’s Handbook”

A publication “Requirements for the Management of Industrial Wastewater and Its Sludge” by the head of the Department of Urban Planning Hygiene and Water Management at the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,» Doctor of Biological Sciences, Senior Researcher Olesia ZORINA has been published.

The handbook “WaterOps Ukraine – The Water Manager’s Handbook,” published by the Office of Sustainable Solutions with the support of the Professional Association of Environmentalists of the World (PAEW), includes the article “Requirements for the Management of Industrial Wastewater and Its Sludge,” written by Head of the Department of Urban Planning Hygiene and Water Management at the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,» Doctor of Biological Sciences, Senior Researcher Olesia ZORINA.

The purpose of the article is to summarize and provide a practical interpretation of modern approaches to the organization of industrial wastewater disposal, followed by the formulation of clear recommendations and rules for environmentally safe water use that are suitable for implementation at enterprises. The proposed recommendations are aimed at ensuring effective management of industrial wastewater and its sludge, minimizing negative impacts on the environment, and protecting public health.

This article systematizes current requirements for the management of industrial wastewater and its sludge, examines the legal and regulatory framework governing them, the principles of organizing industrial wastewater disposal systems, the classification of wastewater, modern methods of wastewater treatment, and the specifics of sludge management.
