On May 27, 2026, the Second International Scientific and Practical Conference “Biological, Chemical, and Environmental Threats in Wartime” was held at Lviv State University of Life Safety.

The conference’s objective was to identify priority areas for countering biological, chemical, radiological, and environmental threats in wartime.

Improving training in the field of biosafety and bioprotection, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation, legal support, logistics, and coordination among various agencies during the prevention and response to medical and biological emergencies.

This conference served as a platform for dialogue among experts from various fields, practitioners, and scientists.

Representing the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine», Candidate of Medical Sciences, Senior Researcher in the Department of Soil and Waste Hygiene – Natalia KOVAL, who delivered a presentation titled: “ECOLOGICAL AND HYGIENIC ASSESSMENT OF SLUDGE DEPOSITS IN THE KAKHOVKA RESERVOIR FOLLOWING THE BLASTING OF THE KAKHOVKA HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT.”
