Meeting with the Director of the Department of Public Health of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration

As part of a working visit to Bukovina by Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Igor SHKROBANETS, Director of the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,» a meeting was held with Natalia SVESTUN, Director of the Department of Health of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration.

During the meeting, they discussed current issues related to the demographic situation in the Chernivtsi region, challenges in public health, directions for the development of preventive medicine, and prospects for interagency cooperation to improve the region’s population’s health.

In accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Chernivtsi Regional Council and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, as well as the Agreement on carrying out monitoring studies of demographic trends and reproductive potential in Bukovina, the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,» in collaboration with the Chernivtsi Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Department of Health of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, carried out a study on social factors and motivations for future parenthood among adolescents in the Chernivtsi region during the war. Research into social factors and motivation for future parenthood among adolescents is a priority area for shaping state policy amid a demographic crisis during a full-scale war.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue working together to implement public health measures, improve the demographic situation, develop preventive medicine, and adopt scientifically sound approaches to preserve and strengthen the health of the population of the Chernivtsi region.
