Participation in the workshop «Fact-checking for Researchers: Digital Tools for Detecting Misinformation in Text, Images, and Video»

On May 25, 2026, as part of the implementation of: «Program of Joint Activities of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine for 2026–2028,» a master class titled «Fact-checking for Researchers: Digital Tools for Detecting Misinformation in Text, Images, and Video» was held online via the Zoom platform.
The event was moderated by Kateryna GODLEVSKA, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Senior Researcher at the Department of Foreign Systems of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education at the Ivan Ziazun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. She introduced participants to the possibilities of using digital tools to verify the accuracy of information in scientific work.
During the workshop, the main methods for identifying fake news in text materials, images, and video content were discussed, and practical tools for verifying information sources, analyzing digital images, searching for primary sources, and identifying manipulative content were demonstrated.
Particular attention was paid to issues of information security, critical thinking, and academic integrity in the context of the rapid development of digital technologies and the spread of disinformation. Event participants gained practical skills in working with online fact-checking services and discussed opportunities for their application in scientific, educational, and professional activities.
