Congratulations to Vasyl LAZORYSHYNETS, President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, from the staff of the Institute on being awarded the title of Honorary Doctor

👨‍🎓Vasyl LAZORYSHYNETS, President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, has been awarded the title of Honorary Doctor (Honoris Causa) by the Mykhailo Dragomanov National University of Ukraine.

The staff of the O.M. Marzeev Institute of Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine sincerely congratulates Vasyl LAZORISHINETS, President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, on this high academic honor.

📍On June 16, 2026, Vasyl LAZORYSHYNETS, President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, took part in a solemn meeting of the Academic Council of the Mykhailo Dragomanov National University of Ukraine.

During the ceremony, Academician Vasyl LAZORYSHYNETS was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor (Honoris Causa) of the university – one of the highest academic honors, bestowed for outstanding contributions to the development of science, education, and society.

The Honorary Doctorate diploma and academic gown were presented by the rector of Mykhailo Dragomanov National University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Viktor Andrushchenko.

📢In his speech, Vasyl LAZORYSHYNETS thanked the university’s administration and staff for this great honor and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the medical and educational communities for the advancement of science, the training of specialists, and the strengthening of the country’s intellectual potential.

The event was also attended by Serhii Vozianov, Vice President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the scientific community, the clergy, government agencies, and the general public.

During the ceremonial session, the title of Honorary Doctor (Honoris Causa) of the Mykhailo Dragomanov National University was also conferred upon His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Patriarch and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

🎶Musical accompaniment for the ceremony was provided by the Hryhorii Veryovka National Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir.

🔬The conferral of the title of Honorary Doctor on Vasyl LAZORYSHYNETS was a recognition of his many years of work in the field of cardiac surgery, the development of medical science, and the Ukrainian healthcare system.
