Participation in the International Conference of the European Society of Human Genetics

Vitalina BASHYNSKA, Candidate of Biological Sciences and Senior Researcher at the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,» participated in the prestigious international conference of the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG), held June 13–16, 2026, in Gothenburg, Sweden.

She presented the results of an international project with a hybrid poster titled “Variation at COMT and ADH1B-ADH1C contributes to genetic predisposition to substance use disorders in Ukrainians.”

The ESHG conference brings together leading experts in various fields of genetics from Europe and around the world. This year, the conference was attended by nearly 5,000 in-person participants and over 1,200 online participants from 96 countries, including more than 50 participants from Ukraine.

In addition to the poster sessions, Vitalina BASHYNSKA attended lectures by leading scientists in the fields of statistical genetics, multi-omics-polygenic diseases, and population genetic studies to enhance her professional expertise and gain new ideas for project development. She also met with colleagues from European institutions and representatives of international companies in the biotechnology sector.
