⚡️The President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine participated in the National Forum «Healthy Ukraine 2030: Strategy, Partnership, European Horizon»
On June 5, 2026, the National Forum «Healthy Ukraine 2030: Strategy, Partnership, European Horizon» began in Zakarpattia Oblast, bringing together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, and the medical and scientific communities to discuss the future of Ukraine’s healthcare system.
Vasyl LAZORYSHYNETS, President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, participated in the forum.
During the opening of the event, Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor LIASHKO presented the key directions for the transformation of the healthcare system by 2030 and outlined the main challenges facing the sector today.
These include the consequences of full-scale war, demographic changes, the spread of non-communicable diseases, and the need for Ukraine’s further integration into the European health space.
The minister emphasized that, despite the unprecedented challenges of war and numerous attacks on medical infrastructure, Ukraine’s healthcare system has maintained its operational capacity, ensured the continuity of medical care, and continued to implement reforms.
Special attention during the forum was given to the development of rehabilitation, prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, the treatment of complex combat injuries, mental health issues, the modernization of medical infrastructure, and the implementation of modern medical technologies.
Forum participants were also presented with the Strategy for the Development of Ukraine’s Healthcare System through 2030, which aims to ensure access to quality medical services and medications, develop human resources, digitize the sector, attract investment, and implement innovative solutions.
As part of the forum, a panel discussion titled “Ukraine’s Integration into the European Health Area: Challenges and Prospects” took place, during which participants discussed further steps toward harmonizing the Ukrainian healthcare system with European standards.
The National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine’s participation in the forum underscores the Academy’s active role in shaping strategic directions for the development of medical science, implementing innovations, and providing scientific support for healthcare reforms in Ukraine.
The National Forum «Healthy Ukraine 2030: Strategy, Partnership, European Horizon» was organized by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in collaboration with the World Health Organization Office in Ukraine, with the support of the European Union and the Belgian international cooperation agency Enabel.
