🗓️World Asthma Day: important to know and keep under control

🫁Every year on the first Tuesday in May, the global community draws attention to bronchial asthma, one of the most common chronic respiratory diseases.
📊According to the World Health Organization, asthma affects more than 250–260 million people worldwide and causes hundreds of thousands of deaths each year. At the same time, a significant proportion of cases remain undiagnosed or inadequately managed.
🇺🇦In Ukraine, the problem also remains relevant: the disease is common among both children and adults, and the detection rate does not always reflect the actual prevalence, indicating the need to strengthen diagnosis and prevention.
🧑⚕️Key recommendations from doctors:
- manage symptoms and see a doctor regularly;
- use prescribed inhalation therapy;
- avoid triggers (allergens, tobacco smoke, air pollution);
- do not self-medicate;
- pay special attention to children and patients with chronic conditions.
Asthma is a condition that can be effectively managed. Timely diagnosis, access to modern treatment, and a responsible attitude on the part of the patient allow for a full and healthy life.
