A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Regional Military Administration

🤝 On October 2, 2025, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the Regional Military Administration, and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

✍️The document was signed by the Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the Head of the Regional Military Administration Vadym FILASHKIN, and the President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, academician Vasyl LAZORYSHYNETS.

🤝 The purpose of the memorandum is to provide residents of Donetsk region with highly qualified medical care in the Academy’s clinical facilities.

“This is a very timely step, because both the wounded and patients with chronic diseases should receive quality treatment regardless of their place of residence. The Academy brings together 32 institutes, including 28 clinical and 4 theoretical ones. Just recently, the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine was admitted to the Federation of European Academies of Medicine (FEAM), which confirms the high level of our work,” emphasized Vasyl LAZORYSHYNETS, President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

📌 Cooperation between the Academy and the Donetsk region has a long history.

✅In the 1990s, the first heart surgeries were performed at the V.K. Gusak Institute of Emergency and Reconstructive Surgery in Donetsk.

✅After 2014, the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine helped to restore cardiac surgery and other types of highly specialized medical care.

❗The signing of the memorandum opens up new opportunities for cooperation and guarantees residents of Donetsk region access to modern methods of diagnosis and treatment in the Academy’s leading clinics.
