May 23-24, 2024 “Stress-associated mental disorders during the war (therapy, prevention, organization of care)”
On May 23-24, 2024, scientists of the Laboratory of the Social Determinants of Population Health of the State Institution “Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” took part in the Scientific and practical conference with international participation “Stress-associated mental disorders during the war (therapy, prevention, organization of care),” organized by the NGO “Association of Neurologists, Psychiatrists and Narcologists of Ukraine” (Kharkiv) online. The conference addressed topical issues of the day:
- The state of mental health of the population of Ukraine during the war.
- Psychological trauma during the war and its impact on public health.
- Psychological assistance to internally displaced persons, children, people with mental disorders, and the elderly.
- Psychiatric and drug treatment for military personnel during the war.
- The structure and prevalence of mental disorders in war.
- Peculiarities of providing medical care to patients with mental and drug-related disorders in wartime.
- Psychosocial rehabilitation of victims and the most vulnerable groups of the population.
- Methods of treatment and rehabilitation of patients with mental disorders.
Olena Yelizarova, Leading Researcher of the Laboratory, Candidate of Medical Sciences, presented a poster on “Depressive and anxiety manifestations in the population of Ukraine during martial law: a population study.”
