On April 16-17, 2025, a scientific and practical conference with international participation «IPIP-2025: International Platform For Integrative Pediatrics,» which is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist-pediatrician, academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Vitaliy MAIDANIK.
Conference organizers: Ministry of Health of Ukraine, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Bogomolets National Medical University, Association of Pediatricians of Ukraine.
During the conference, the following issues were discussed:
- Strategic issues of updating the organization of medical care for children in the 3rd year of the war in Ukraine;
- Problems of development and upbringing of children mentally traumatized by long-term military circumstances in Ukraine;
- Development of rehabilitation of the children’s population of Ukraine – the most necessary direction of improving the health care system;
- Current issues of adaptation and health of schoolchildren.
Scientists from the Laboratory of the Social Determinants of Population Health of the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine» took an active part in this forum as speakers: Head of the Laboratory, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Svitlana HOZAK with the report «The relationship between daily routine and mental health of schoolchildren in Ukraine during the war» and Leading Researcher of the Laboratory, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Olena YELIZAROVA with the report «Trends in schoolchildren’s sleep patterns: results of a ten-year study (2014-2024) in Ukraine.» The information presented in the reports will allow pediatricians, family doctors, public health specialists, and educators to inform the public and develop preventive measures for children and adolescents, taking into account the importance of lifestyle factors for mental health, which is of particular value in humanitarian emergencies.
