On June 4, 2025, a meeting of the Interagency Working Group on Water Policy was held to coordinate actions to implement the Water Strategy of Ukraine until 2050

On June 4, 2025, a meeting of the Interagency Working Group on Water Policy was held via web conference to coordinate actions to implement the Water Strategy of Ukraine until 2050. The said working group was established in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine No. 407 dated 09.06.2023 (as amended by the Order of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine No. 971 dated May 15, 2025).

Olesia Zorina, Head of the Laboratory of Surface Water Safety of the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,» Doctor of Biological Sciences, Senior Researcher, participated in this meeting as a member of the said working group.

The Working Group reviewed the draft Operational Plan for the implementation of the Water Strategy of Ukraine until 2050 in 2025-2027. This Strategy was approved by the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on December 9, 2022, No. 1134-p and is a document that defines the basic principles of state policy in the field of water use and protection, water resources reproduction and aims to achieve mutual coherence related to their use, increase water security and reduce water management risks to an acceptable level on the basis of sustainable integrated water resources management.

The Working Group decided to enhance the draft of the above-mentioned Operational Plan.
