On November 12, 2025, an information dissemination event was held entitled «Research and Innovation as a Driver of Ukraine’s Integration into the Global Research Space.»

On the occasion of World Science Day for Peace and Development, which is celebrated annually on November 10, an information dissemination event entitled «Research and Innovation as a Driver of Ukraine’s Integration into the Global Research Space» was held on November 12, 2025.

The program of the event included the following sections: welcoming speeches; Ukraine’s integration into the European and global research spaces and the synergy of European programs; support instruments within the framework of the European Research Council (ERC) competitions; success stories of Ukrainian researchers.

Welcoming speeches were given by: Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Denys Kurbatov, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Serhiy Babak, Head of the RTD 03 Department for International Cooperation in Europe and America of the European Commission Carole Mancel-Blanchard, Secretary General of Science Europe Lidia Borrell-Damian, expert on policy issues in science and innovation at the EU Delegation to Ukraine Yegor Pivovarov, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the National Council of Ukraine on Science and Technology Oleksandra Antoniuk, and Executive Director of the National Research Fund of Ukraine Olga Polotska. The high resilience of Ukrainian scientists during the war and the support of the EU, which is bringing Ukraine closer to integration into the European and global research areas, were highlighted.

The event agenda included discussions on the following topics: The European Innovation Council in action: opportunities for Ukrainian researchers and entrepreneurs (Eva Kosinska-Lange, Policy Officer, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, European Innovation Council (RTD A3), European Commission); Smart international partnerships (Tobias STÜDEMANN, Director of the Free University of Berlin’s Representative Office in Eastern Europe); Overview of ERC funding schemes, latest innovations, and additional support programs (Janka MATRAI, Science Policy Officer, European Research Council Executive Agency); Successful stories of Ukrainian researchers in NFRD competitions were presented.

Alla KOBLIANSKA, Head of the Department of the Support of State Programs and International Relations, Candidate of Medical Sciences, participated in the meeting on behalf of the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.»
