A meeting was held with the heads of state institutions of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine
March 25, 2026 A meeting was held with the heads and medical directors of state institutions of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, which took place in a hybrid format – both in-person and online. The online format allowed scientific institutions from other cities in Ukraine, including Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Lviv, to participate.
The meeting was chaired by:
Vasyl Lazoryshynets – President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine;
Viktoria Vagner – Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Public Health, Medical Care, and Health Insurance;
Serhiy Siromakha – Head of the Department of Clinical Practice and Interaction with the National Health Service of Ukraine.
Main Issue
The main topic of the meeting was the capacity of the NAMS of Ukraine’s state institutions to provide specialized medical care amid changes in the healthcare system, taking into account the specifics of contracting under the Medical Guarantees Program.
Reports were heard from the heads of state institutions and medical directors, who presented their findings and visions regarding the future functioning of the institutions, particularly regarding funding and capacity in 2026, with the aim of preserving human and material resources.
Each presentation was discussed, and the heads of institutions were given the opportunity to express their own views and proposals.

- State Institution “Institute of Blood Pathology and Transfusion Medicine of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” (Lviv)
- State Institution “Academician O.F. Vozianov Institute of Urology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”
- State Institution “L.V. Gromashevsky Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”
- State Institution “F.G. Yanovsky National Scientific Center for Phthisiology, Pulmonology, and Allergology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”
- State Institution “All-Ukrainian Center for Motherhood and Childhood of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”
- State Institution “Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” (Odesa)
- State Institution “Institute of Dermatology and Venereology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” (Kharkiv)
- State Institution “Institute of Child and Adolescent Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” (Kharkiv)
- State Institution “National Scientific Center ‘Academician M.D. Strazhesko Institute of Cardiology, Clinical and Regenerative Medicine of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine’”
- State Institution “National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”
- State Institution “Prof. O.S. Kolomiichenko Institute of Otolaryngology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”
- State Institution “D.F. Chebotarev Institute of Gerontology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”
- State Institution “Scientific and Practical Center for Endovascular Neuroradiological Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”
Viktoria Vagner emphasized the importance of preserving Ukrainian medical science and the NAMS of Ukraine as an integral component that is crucial for maintaining the personnel and property resources of these institutions.
The President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Vasyl Lazoryshynets, announced that by Friday, March 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM, heads of institutions must submit their written proposals regarding their capacity to provide specialized medical care under the current changes in the healthcare system, taking into account the specifics of contracting under the Medical Guarantees Program.
We also remind you that the General Assembly of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine will take place on March 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the conference hall of the State Institution “Academician A.P. Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” (Kyiv, 32 Platona Mayborody St.).
The General Meeting of the Department of Theoretical and Preventive Medicine will take place on March 30, 2026, in the conference hall of the State Institution “Academician A.P. Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” at the following address: Kyiv, 32 Platona Mayborody St., Building 1, 2nd floor.
The general meeting of the Department of Clinical Medicine will take place on March 30, 2026, in the conference hall of the State Institution “All-Ukrainian Center for Motherhood and Childhood of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” at the following address: Kyiv, 8 Platon Mayboroda St.
Registration of participants begins on March 30 at 8:30 a.m.
In closing, the President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine thanked the heads of the Academy’s state institutions for their productive work.
