🔔March 24 – World Tuberculosis Day

🗓️On March 24, the global community observes World Tuberculosis Day – a date designed to draw attention to one of humanity’s most dangerous infectious diseases: tuberculosis.

🫁Despite significant progress in medicine, tuberculosis remains a serious challenge for public health systems today. Ukraine is among the countries with a high burden of this disease, requiring concerted efforts from the government, scientists, and the medical community.

📣The National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine emphasizes:

👉Tuberculosis is curable provided it is diagnosed in a timely manner and treated with a full course of therapy;

👉Interrupting treatment can lead to the development of drug-resistant forms of the disease;

👉Prevention, early detection, and a responsible attitude toward one’s own health are the key to overcoming the disease.

👨‍⚕️Today, scientists and doctors at the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine continue to work on improving methods for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of tuberculosis, implementing modern scientific advancements into clinical practice.

📍We urge citizens to be mindful of their health, undergo regular check-ups, and seek medical attention promptly if symptoms appear.

🤝Together, we can defeat tuberculosis.

📣Sincerely,
Press Service of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine
