Strengthening Scientific and Practical Cooperation at the Interregional Level

🤝 Igor SHKROBANETS from the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine» and Taras TYSHCHENKO from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Long-Term Cooperation, formalizing joint plans in the field of public health by combining the scientific, analytical, expert, and practical capabilities of the institutions.

The partnership opens new opportunities for the rapid implementation of scientific developments into practical healthcare activities, as the priority areas for implementing the Memorandum are defined as follows:

🔹carrying out joint assessments and forecasting the health status of the population, taking into account the impact of environmental factors and identifying those that may pose a health risk;

🔹 analyzing the causes and conditions of the emergence and spread of infectious and non-infectious diseases, as well as providing scientific and methodological support for preventive measures;

🔹organizing and carrying out joint monitoring of pollutants in environmental components and assessing their impact on public health, including determining the level of atmospheric air pollution caused by industrial emissions and assessing its impact on the environment and public health;

🔹 implementation of measures to prevent and respond to dangerous, particularly dangerous, and emerging infectious diseases, including ensuring biosafety and preventing antimicrobial resistance;

🔹 joint assessment of risks to the population from the impact of radiation factors, including radon-222 in premises of various purposes, for the further development of anti-radiation and anti-radon measures.

The memorandum provides for the carry out of joint scientific activities and the exchange of experience, best practices, analytical materials, and research results.
