On March 19-20, 2025, a webinar was held on EU grant support for research projects of theNational Research Foundation of Ukraine and the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine of the NRFU on health issues.
Alina PLATONOVA, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of the Safety of Children’s Population Vital Functions, and Alla KOBLIANSKA, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of the Support of State Programs and International Relations, took part in the webinar from the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.»
The project aims to provide an overview of existing projects and train potential participants to prepare for the tasks of the NRFU’s Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine for 2025-2027 and key aspects of participation.
Also included was information on financial, legal, gender, and organizational requirements of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and the NRFU’s Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine for grant support. Keynote presentations:
- Competitions of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. Organizational support from application to reporting (Andriy Kuznetsov, Deputy Director of the NRFU for Grant Support);
- The Horizon Europe program is an EU program for research and innovation: (Igor Taranov, Head of the Department “Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine” of the NRFU);
- Legal Aspects of Participation in the Horizon Europe Program (Yulia Reminska, Chief Specialist of the Office of Horizon Europe in Ukraine, NFUF);
- Organizational and Legal Aspects of Competitive Selection and Grant Support of the NRFU (Roman Paliy, Head of the Legal Department of the NRFU);
- Technical briefing (Denys Nikolaychuk, specialist of the “Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine” department of the NRFU).
It is noted that the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan for 2025-2027 is based on an extensive analysis, including a gap analysis of missing topics and potential gaps in the areas of activity envisaged by the program’s legal framework. The Strategic Plan was created in cooperation with the European Parliament, Member States, and associated countries, as well as more than 2000 stakeholders and citizens who participated in various stages of the strategic planning process of Horizon Europe, the European Framework Programs for Research and Innovation.
