On September 17, 2025, a scientific and practical conference with international participation, «World Patient Safety Day – 2025,» was held
As in previous years, the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine» joined in organizing the conference, which is held at the Bogomolets National Medical University (Department of Hygiene, Occupational Safety, and Occupational Health).
The program issues discussed at the conference included: the state of patient safety in Ukraine in the context of developing a quality healthcare system, the safety of young patients, improving the safety and effectiveness of treatment, and the emergence of new safety challenges caused by the war.
The State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine» presented two reports:
«Improving the health technology assessment (HTA) system in the context of medical reform: a tool for improving the safety and effectiveness of treatment» – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Igor Shkrobanets – Director of the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine»;
«The functioning of underground educational institutions for children and adolescents in the frontline zones of Ukraine as the first global experience in safety: current challenges and justification of the regulatory framework» – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Valentyna Makhniuk – Head of the Laboratory of Hygiene for Planning and Construction of Settlements, State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.»
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yurii Skaletskyi – Head of the Laboratory of the Security Strategies at the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine», co-author of the report «The state of patient safety in Ukraine in the context of developing a system of quality medical care.»
