The expanded meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine was held at the Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery
❗️During the meeting, key issues of the Academy’s activities in the current conditions were discussed, in particular:
📌providing specialized assistance to military personnel and veterans;
📌cooperation with the National Health Service of Ukraine;
📌preparing the Academy’s institutions for possible blackouts during the winter period.
Composition of the Presidium of the NAMS of Ukraine:
✅ Academician Vasyl Lazoryshynets – President of the NAMS of Ukraine, Academician of the NAMS and the NAS of Ukraine;
✅ Academician Oleksandr Usenko – First Vice President of the NAMS of Ukraine;
✅ Academician Serhii Vozianov – Vice President of the NAMS of Ukraine;
✅ Academician Ihor Lurin – Vice President of the NAMS of Ukraine;
✅ Doctor of Medical Sciences Natalia Medvedovska – Acting Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAMS of Ukraine.
The following officials were invited to participate in the expanded presidium of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and joined the meeting:
✅ Viktoria Wagner – Member of Parliament of Ukraine, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health, representative of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
✅ Ihor Zholnovych, Head of the Contractual Work Department of the National Health Service of Ukraine, who joined the constructive online dialogue.
📌Key reports:
✍️ Vasyl Lazoryshynets, President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, delivered a report entitled:
📌“Providing specialized care to military personnel and veterans,” in which he highlighted in detail:
✅the interaction of the National Academy of Medical Sciences with the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Health, the Accounting Chamber, the Ministry of Health, and the National Health Service of Ukraine;
✅systemic challenges and problems in the Academy’s institutions;
✅ steps taken and achievements in the field of medical care for military personnel and veterans;
✅ organizational and problematic issues that require attention.
At the end of his speech, the President of the Academy expressed his sincere gratitude:
🙏”We thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their courage and resilience.
We thank the deputies, the Ministry of Health, and the National Health Service of Ukraine for their support and constructive dialogue.
We thank the staff of the NAMS institutions for their hard work during these difficult times.”
☝️Serhii Siromakha, Doctor of Medical Sciences, head of the Department of Medical Treatment and Interaction with the National Health Service of Ukraine, also gave a presentation entitled “NAMSU State Institutions in the Medical Guarantees Program. Expectations and Reality. Next Steps.”
❗️In his speech, he talked about:
📍the work of the interdepartmental group of the NAMSU and the National Health Service of Ukraine;
📍the Academy’s interaction with the Parliamentary Committee, the Accounting Chamber, the Ministry of Health, and the National Health Service of Ukraine;
📍practical steps to increase the effectiveness of the Academy’s institutions’ participation in the medical guarantees program.
In addition, the directors of the NAMSU research institutes shared their experience in preparing for possible blackouts and organizing the continuous provision of medical care in emergency situations.
🤝🎗️As part of the event, the President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine presented diplomas and letters of appreciation to the employees of the Academy’s institutions for their significant contribution to the development of medical science and practice.
