November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month 🫁

❗Lung cancer remains one of the most common and dangerous cancers in the world. Every year, millions of people die from it, often due to late detection.
👨⚕️However, timely diagnosis can save lives.
🔹 Symptoms to look out for:
– prolonged cough or change in its nature;
– chest pain;
– shortness of breath;
– coughing up blood;
– constant fatigue, weight loss without apparent cause.
🔹 The main risk factor is smoking, but lung cancer can also occur in people who have never smoked. Therefore, preventive examinations are important for everyone.
Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer mortality worldwide.
❗Every year, this disease claims more than 1.8 million lives, and in Ukraine – more than 9,000.
👨💼In 70% of cases, the disease is detected too late.
🚭 Vapes ≠ safety
Despite the myth of “less harm,” vapes and e-cigarettes also damage the lungs.
🧐Studies show:
- vape vapors contain carcinogens, heavy metals, and nicotine;
- vape users have a higher risk of chronic respiratory diseases;
- teenagers who start with vaping often move on to smoking cigarettes.
Experts from the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine emphasize:
“Timely computed tomography of the lungs allows cancer to be detected at an early stage, when treatment is most effective.”
✍️Let’s take care of our health — don’t ignore symptoms, quit smoking, and get preventive checkups.
