On October 9, 2024, the NGO All-Ukrainian Water Society “WaterNet” organized a roundtable discussion based on the results of the project “Safe Drinking Water in Ukraine: Access to Information on Water Quality and Water Treatment Methods,” funded by the Finnish Local Cooperation Fund of the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine.
This event’s participants included the Head of the Cooperation Department of the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine, scientists from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and other scientific institutions, manufacturers of water treatment equipment, and water utilities in Ukraine.
The State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine» (hereinafter – SI «IPH NAMSU») was represented by Olesia Zorina, Head of the Laboratory of Surface Water Safety, Doctor of Biology, Senior Researcher.
Zorina O. drew the attention of institutions carrying out the quality of drinking water monitoring in Ukraine to the need to assess the risks to human health in case of excessive content of indicators of drinking water quality and to monitor the quality of drinking water following the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Standards “Safety Indicators and Certain Indicators of Drinking Water Quality in Martial Law and Other Emergency Situations” with amendments to them developed by the specialists of the SI «IPH NAMSU» in 2022-2024 period.
