On October 3-4, 2024, the All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference with International Participation, “Role of the Public Health System in the Implementation of the National Healthcare System Development Strategy by 2030,” was held
On October 3 – 4, 2024, the All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference with international participation, “Role of the Public Health System in the Implementation of the National Healthcare System Development Strategy by 2030,” was held in Uzhhorod.
The co-organizers of the conference were:
- NGO “All-Ukrainian Association of Public Health Specialists”;
- Uzhhorod National University;
- Ministry of Health of Ukraine;
- Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;
- USAID Project “Building a Resilient Public Health System”.
The conference was aimed at professional discussion of ways to develop the public health system in Ukraine, the role and place of the public health system in the implementation of the Health System Development Strategy until 2030, as well as current challenges for the public health sector and ways to overcome them in the context of the war in Ukraine and the future post-war reconstruction by managers, public health practitioners, scientists, representatives of higher education institutions, national and international partners in the field of public health.
From the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine» the conference was attended by TUROS O., Deputy Director of Scientific Work, and RUDNYTSKA O., Head of Coordination of Research Department.
The directions that were presented and discussed at the conference:
- The role of the public health system in implementing the Healthcare System Development Strategy until 2030.
- The state of implementation and identification of priority measures for intersectoral cooperation in the public health field, including implementing the One Health approach in Ukraine.
- Priorities and necessary measures to ensure the development of public health policies in line with Ukraine’s European integration course.
- Development of the national public health system and measures to improve the health of the population at the level of territorial communities.
- Priorities, achievements, and challenges in using data and digital tools to analyze the medical and demographic situation during the war in Ukraine and make informed decisions.
- The war’s impact on the population’s health and the healthcare system of Ukraine, measures to minimize the negative impact, and support the public health system.
- Current status, further strategies, and practical steps for developing public health human resources.
