On April 29, 2025, a training seminar «Medical Waste Management-2025» was held
On April 29, 2025, the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine» hosted a training seminar «Medical Waste Management-2025, including safety requirements for human health and the environment during the generation, collection, storage, transportation, and treatment of such waste.»
The training seminar was organized for medical workers of clinical institutions of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine to ensure coordination, information and advisory support of healthcare facilities in organizing medical waste management in pursuance of the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on 31.10.2024 № 1827 «On Approval of the State Sanitary Norms and Rules «Procedure for Medical Waste Management, including Safety Requirements for Human Health during the Generation, Collection, Storage, Transportation, Treatment of Such Waste.»

We talked about:
- Gaining knowledge of the updated legislation on medical waste management, and improving the ability to work with the system at all stages (collection, storage, and disposal).
- Improved understanding of waste management documentation and responsibility for improper management.
- The procedure for medical waste management.
- Organizing and managing medical waste, ensuring its safety for health and the environment, including under martial law.
The training seminar was attended by about 170 medical professionals who received qualified and professional information on medical waste management.
