On March 27, 2025, a round table «Ensuring constructive behavior of the population in extreme stress» was held following the program of joint activities of the NAMSU and NAPNU for 2023-2025.
The roundtable was organized by the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Pediatrics and Psychiatry of Ukraine and the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.»
Igor Shkrobanets, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Acting Director of the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,» and Mykola Slyusarevsky, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Director of the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, delivered welcoming remarks.
THE ROUNDTABLE PROGRAM INCLUDES DISCUSSION OF THE FOLLOWING ISSUES:
✓ Psychological readiness of an individual to counteract environmental and epidemic threats to human health.
✓ Social and psychological strategies for forming a healthy lifestyle during the war.
✓ Preservation of the mental health of vulnerable populations during the war.
✓ Risk and protection factors for the mental health of the population in extreme situations.
Thematic presentations were made by the researchers from the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine»:
– Svitlana Hozak, Doctor of Medical Sciences, presented the report «Mental health of children during the war: risk and protection factors»;
– Tetiana Stankevych, Candidate of Medical Sciences with the report «Impact of war stress factors on public health»;
– Yurii Skaletskyi, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor with the report «Formation of psychological resilience of future medical workers to challenges and threats of martial law.»
Also, the scientific and organizational committee of the round table was attended by: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Olena Turos, Candidate of Medical Sciences Olha Rudnytska, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Mykhailo Antomonov, Candidate of Biological Sciences Svitlana Pashynska, Candidate of Medical Sciences Tetiana Skochko, Julia Melchenko.
The roundtable was held in a mixed format, with about 70 participants.
Based on the results of the roundtable, a draft Resolution was prepared.
