On May 26, 2025, a round table «Strengthening institutional capacities and national networks to facilitate Ukraine’s participation in the European Research Area» was held

On May 26, 2025, the Roundtable “Strengthening institutional capacities and national networks to facilitate Ukraine’s participation in the European Research Area” was organized by the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.
Denys KURBATOV, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Signe RATSO, Deputy Director General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (RTD), delivered welcoming remarks.
The program included a block of presentations of the country’s report on the development of research infrastructures within the framework of the Horizon Europe policy support mechanism:
- Presentation of the report: structure, methodology, focus, main conclusions and recommendations: Dr. Jana KOLAR, Chair of the Expert Group, Ambassador of the European Innovation Council, Slovenia, and Manfred SPIESBERGER, member of the expert group, Senior Research Fellow and Project Coordinator at the Center for Social Innovation (ZSI) in Vienna, Austria, expert on Eastern Europe policy.
- Governance and effective management of public research infrastructure: Dr. Sven FAHRNER, expert on governance and effective management of public research infrastructure, Germany.
- An efficient and effective system of funding research infrastructures: Dr. Hanifeh KHAYYERI, expert on efficient and effective research infrastructure funding systems, Sweden.
- International integration of research infrastructures: Prof. Agnieszka GRAŻYNA ZALEWSKA, expert on international integration of research infrastructures, Poland.
- Implementation of open science in research infrastructures, including principles of open science compliance: Dr. Damien LECARPENTIER, expert on the implementation of open science in research infrastructures, including the principles of open science compliance (FAIR), Director of International Cooperation and Partnerships, Science IT Center, Finland.
A significant part of the roundtable was devoted to a question and answer session and discussion.
Alla KOBLIANSKA, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of the Support of State Programs and International Relations, took part in the roundtable on behalf of the State Institution «Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.»
The information received will be used for possible participation in the program and further development of international cooperation of the Institute’s scientists.
