(Poland) is the regional division of North-Eastern Europe;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Europejska Uczelnia Spo\u0142eczno-Techniczna w Radomiu, Poland;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dokkyo Medical University, Japan;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Surrey (UK);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research, Olsztyn, Poland;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Salerno, Italy;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Helsinki, Finland;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International Center for Advanced Studies and Research (ICASR) at the University of Salerno (Italy);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National Institute of Public Health \u2013 National Institute of Hygiene (Poland);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Nicolae Testemi\u021banu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 10, 2025, an international conference was held on the occasion of International Women\u2019s Day titled \u201cInnovation, Inclusion, and Equal Opportunities: The Fundamental Role of Women in the Academic Community, Education, Science, and Entrepreneurship,\u201d organized within the framework of the mission and objectives of the newly established International Center for Prospective Studies \u201cInnovative Technologies for Radiation Applied to Environmental Monitoring, Cultural Heritage, and Health Risks (THERADE)\u201d (Italy), which include the development and implementation of cutting-edge educational programs aimed at bridging the gap between countries, particularly regarding women\u2019s access to advanced scientific research and the use of innovative technologies to improve well-being in their countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives from universities in Italy, Turkey, Thailand, Germany, Serbia, Ukraine, Australia, Peru, and Cyprus participated in the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives from the State Institution \u00abMarzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine\u00bb delivered the following presentations: Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Olena Turos \u2013 \u201cThe role of Ukrainian women scientists in the field of environmental and health\u201d and Head of the Radiation Protection Laboratory, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Tetiana Pavlenko \u2013 \u201cRadiation protection in Ukraine &#8211; existing challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 26, 2025, the State Institution \u00abMarzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine\u00bb hosted a \u201cHorizon Europe\u201d Information Day for the institutions and organizations of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. Participants \u2013 representatives of institutions and organizations of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine \u2013 joined the event online (over 90 registered participants) and listened to the following presentations:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cThe EU\u2019s Ninth Framework Program \u2018Horizon Europe\u2019: Participation Conditions for the Research Community\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cPractical Aspects of Participating in an International Project: Organizing Inter-institutional Cooperation and Developing a Competition Proposal\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cALLWATERS. Practical experience in preparing an international project.&#8221;;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cThe competitive landscape of the \u2018Horizon Europe\u2019 program in 2025.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Institute\u2019s Director, Igor Shkrobanets, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, participated in the discussion and survey regarding the Consensus on the Anti-Tobacco Strategy in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A landmark event was the publication of a technical report titled \u201cStatus of Environment and Climate in Ukraine,\u201d prepared by specialists from the Laboratory of Air Quality of the State Institution \u201cInstitute of Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine\u201d in collaboration with experts from the European Joint Research Centre (EU JRC) and international colleagues. \u201cStatus of Environment and Climate in Ukraine.\u201d Experts from DG ENEST, DG CLIMA, and DG ENV reviewed the Report. The analysis is based on studies by the European Joint Research Centre (EU JRC) and other available scientific and statistical sources. For the first time, this study systematizes data that allows for an assessment of the war\u2019s impact on the state of the environment and climate in Ukraine. It includes key guidelines for the country\u2019s recovery. At the same time, the Report provides important information regarding the assessment of Ukraine\u2019s readiness for EU accession, particularly in the context of Chapter 27 of the EU\u2019s environmental acquis. The conclusions presented in this Report are intended to assist in the effective implementation of specific measures to be considered in the planning process, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally responsible approach to Ukraine\u2019s reconstruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, the Institute&#8217;s staff has conducted <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/health.gov.ua\/en\/activity\/international-activity\/joint-research-of-institute-with-foreign-partners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">25 joint international research projects<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"principal_directions\"><strong>Key areas of scientific and technical cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Improving the principles of preventive medicine in promoting health and preventing the development of diseases;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening public health in the face of emergencies and climate change;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identification of environmental hazards (physical, chemical, biological) and health risks from their impact to address ecological quality management issues;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food quality control;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Studying the role of lifestyle, educational and upbringing processes, and living conditions in shaping children&#8217;s health;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updating the principles of toxic substances regulation in food products and raw materials obtained in the war-affected areas;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scientific substantiation of modern, effective methods and disinfectants for the prevention of infectious diseases;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scientific substantiation of the methodology for determining the danger to public health of socio-economic and ecological changes in society associated with disasters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"staff_participation\"><strong>Participation of the Institution&#8217;s researchers in the work of international organizations, committees, and specialized medical associations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>O.I. It is involved in activities stipulated by the WHO monitoring policy (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobalfund.org\/media\/6630\/psm_qclaboratoriesrequirements_list_%252520en.pdf?u=%252520636737337270000000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.theglobalfund.org\/media\/6630\/psm_qclaboratoriesrequirements_list_en.pdf?u=636737337270000000<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The International Scientific and Practical Conference \u201cCurrent Issues of Public Health and Environmental Safety in Ukraine\u201d (21st Marzieiev Readings) (October 23\u201324, 2025) was held online. A total of over 1,000 participants took part. Ten foreign speakers were invited.
