Over the years, it has been headed by V.Ya.Yakovenko, D.M. Kaliuzhny, Yu.D. Dumansky, K.V. Hrihorieva, V.Ye. Prysiazhniuk, and O.I. Turos. Since October 2025, the head of the laboratory has been Arina Petrosian, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Senior Researcher. In 2026, as a result of restructuring, the Department of Air Quality was established on the basis of the Laboratory of Air Quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Head of the Department \u2013 <strong>Arina Petrosian<\/strong>, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Senior Researcher (ORCID: <a href=\"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-3353-8574\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-3353-8574<\/a>).<br>Tel .: <strong>+38(044)292-13-67<\/strong>, <strong>+38(044)292-14-47<\/strong>; e-mail : <a href=\"mailto:arinapetrosian@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">arinapetrosian@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The main scientific activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hygienic assessment of air pollution;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regulatory, legal, and methodological support for the development of regulatory acts, medical and sanitary standards and regulations, rules, and standards in the field of air hygiene and sanitation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of methods for determining the content of pollutants in ambient air, emissions from stationary sources, indoor air in public and residential buildings, and the workplace;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Methodological support and conducting an inventory of sources of pollutant emissions into the atmosphere for various economic entities, and the development of documents justifying emission levels;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improving methodological approaches to risk assessment (including epidemiological studies and calculation of social costs) for public health resulting from atmospheric air pollution caused by emissions from various economic entities and motor vehicles;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing and implementing innovative approaches to air quality assessment (integration of ground-based and satellite monitoring observations, mathematical modeling, and geoinformation technologies) in accordance with international requirements and standards;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scientific justification and assessment of the size of sanitary protection zones for various economic entities to ensure compliance with medical and sanitary regulations regarding the safety of the living environment and the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hygienic assessment of biological air pollution by airborne allergen pollen;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adaptation and conduct of studies using PCR methods to identify genetic predisposition to various types of addictions and the risk of developing diseases caused by the negative effects of air pollution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Department of Air Quality The Laboratory of Air Quality was established in 1931.
