Dear colleagues! We are honored to draw your attention to the significant contribution of the researchers of the Laboratory of the Social Determinants of Population Health<\/a> to the development of public health and children’s health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prestigious scientific journal INQUIRY: The Journal of Health Care Organization, Provision, and Financing (Q2) has published an article:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yelizarova O, Stankevych T, Parats A \u2026 Hozak S. Digital Exposure in Early Childhood: Health Risks and Protective Strategies During Remote Learning. INQUIRY: The Journal of Health Care Organization, Provision, and Financing.<\/em> 2025; 62. https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/00469580251390766<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authors investigated the health risks and protective strategies associated with screen time among preschool children, especially in the context of remote learning, which becomes critically important during crises (pandemics, social crises). The results of the literature review and their own research clearly indicate that excessive screen time is associated with decreased physical activity, sleep disturbances, emotional difficulties, and delayed language acquisition. The study emphasizes the importance of adhering to a structured daily routine, viewing content together with parents, and limiting passive screen time for children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This publication emphasizes that the introduction of digital practices in early education during a crisis must be conscious and take into account the health of the child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Laboratory of the Social Determinants of Population Health<\/a><\/strong> is one of the key departments of the State Institution \u00abMarzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,\u00bb which actively works to study contemporary social challenges and their impact on population health, offering evidence-based solutions for public health policy-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We invite all interested professionals to read the full version of the article<\/a> <\/strong>to deepen their understanding of the relationship between technology and children’s health in the modern world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
