The festive jubilee scientific and practical conference with international participation “CURRENT PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY OF UKRAINE”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the founding of the State Institution “O.M.Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”, was held on 21-22 October, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference consisted of two on-line plenary sessions. The conference was attended by leading scientists of the country, university professors, doctors, chemists, physicists and specialists of other professions from almost all regions of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the WHO, IAEA, the Republic of Belarus, the United States of America, Dokkyo Medical University (Japan), Australia, Sweden. Among the participants were representatives of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, scientific and practical health care institutions of Ukraine and non-governmental organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total number of participants – 255 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main priority of the conference was the issues of disease prevention, the formation of conditions for a healthy environment and a responsible attitude of the population to their health. There were presented 39 reports. Based on the results of the discussions, a resolution was prepared with coverage of the most significant issues of today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the reports were devoted to the priority areas of modern preventive medicine. These are issues of drinking water quality in Ukraine and recommendations for its improvement, scientific substantiation of improving the state of atmospheric air, soil and waste management, hygienic problems of drinking water supply and wastewater treatment, hygiene of residential premises, planning and development of populated areas, sanitary microbiology has lost its relevance, today and hygienic problems of carcinogenic environmental factors, radiation safety and safety of medicines. And as always, the participants were worried about the problems of genetic epidemiology, hygiene of children and adolescents, the prevention of food-dependent diseases and the problems of a safe living environment and public health in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference participants were congratulated by Tsymbalyuk Vitaly Ivanovich, the President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Kuzin Igor Vladimirovich, Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine, Rudenko Irina Sergeevna, Director General of the Directorate of Public Health and Prevention of Diseases of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Grigorenko Alla Anatolyevna, Head of the Department of State Supervision of Legislation and Investigation of Epidemiological Outbreaks of the State Food and Consumer Service of Ukraine, colleagues of friendly institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
